KJ began his electrical apprenticeship in 1983 and just four years later, at the age of 21, started his own business. “KJ Electrical” based in Christchurch, undertook domestic and commercial electrical work. Clients back then included Mainfreight Transport, the original Lone Star restaurant, Cafe Valentinos and Burger King Restaurants.

KJ built his business on trust, knowledge and reliability. These attributes grew his business and in 2003 KJ formed his company ‘KJ Electrical Contracting Ltd’ and at that time employed one apprentice.

These days the company employs three registered professional electricians and one trainee. They have four vehicles on the road and continue to build the business on the same attributes of trust, knowledge and reliability. The team of friendly and experienced staff pride themselves on being able to solve problems quickly and with minimal interruption to you, their client.

KJ believes the main strength of his team is their ability to work in a wide range of industries. On any given day they could be found commissioning new dairy milking sheds in North Canterbury, servicing production line plant, installing new business/retail fit outs or upgrading hotel rooms.

They have extensive experience in the domestic market, from new housing to renovations, lighting design and outdoor lighting installations.

KJ is proud of their continued and long lasting business relationships with Mainfreight Transport, and Cafe Valentinos. Additionally KJ has built servicing relationship with other commercial Christchurch clients such as Online Security, Heartland Hotels, Scenic Circle Group, K9 Natural, Rylock Windows & Doors and Granite Benchtop Company.
